The Museum of Moroccan Elegance is a unique cultural space located in a 17th-century riad in the heart of the Marrakech medina. Founded by Hakim Cherradi and Meriem Ammor, this museum pays tribute to 13 centuries of Moroccan fashion history. 1. A 17th-Century Riad: A Gem of Heritage

The museum is housed in a beautiful 17th-century riad, built during the Saadian era (1549-1659). This carefully restored historic building provides an authentic setting to explore the evolution of Moroccan fashion and traditions. Every architectural detail reflects the timeless elegance and craftsmanship of Morocco.

 

2. The Artist: Habiba Hantout, a Visionary of Moroccan Elegance

Biography of the Artist
Habiba Hantout, a visionary artist and passionate historian, has dedicated her life to preserving Moroccan clothing heritage. Her in-depth research and artistic talent have allowed her to faithfully recreate traditional costumes, now displayed in the museum. Each miniature she designed is the result of a meticulous quest to preserve and transmit Morocco’s cultural traditions.

Her Book: “XIII Centuries of Moroccan Costumes”
In honor of her immense contribution, Habiba Hantout published an exceptional book tracing 13 centuries of Moroccan clothing history. This book, titled “XIII Centuries of Moroccan Costumes,” received congratulations from His Majesty King Mohammed VI. It is a true reference for lovers of history, fashion, and culture.

    The museum was founded by Mr. Hakim Cherradi, son of the artist and visionary Habiba Hantout, and his wife, Meriem Ammor. Their mission: to preserve and share Moroccan clothing heritage, while honoring the work of Habiba Hantout, who dedicated her life to immortalizing Moroccan elegance.
